For those that don't know, there is a Node.js version of Orion here. As you can see it lacks features of the Java version of Orion.

I am curious if there is information on future plans for the Node.js version of Orion.

Specifically it would be great to have Git and login api support.

Also, might be possible to have a plugin for ungit - a very nice Node.js-browser-based Git tool.

There's a branch with some Git support implemented using nodegit, but it hasn't been merged into master yet. The only blocker is making the dependency optional so that the server will still run on systems where nodegit fails to install. That should be straightforward to fix.

There is also a branch that implements file search, which needs to be merged.

There are no plans for login/multiuser support at the moment.

At the moment, no committers are regularly working on the Node server, so it only gets improved when someone from the community wants a short-term Node.js project to hack on.

That's good to know.

Do you know if the Java server-side implementation has plans to support Power8 chipset? I attempted to go the route of getting the Java version working but ran into barriers (the resulting binary didn't work).

I also tried to build the war but keep getting stuck on step 3...

3) In the org.eclipse.orion.server.war project, import the eclipse.equinox.servletbridge.psf project set file to import the Eclipse Equinox Servletbridge bundles used for the WAR file.

When I do step 4 (Eclipse Product export wizard) I get the following error.

Processing inclusion from feature org.eclipse.orion.base.feature: Bundle org.eclipse.equinox.http.servlet_1.2.0.qualifier failed to resolve.:
	Unsatisfied import package org.osgi.service.http.context_[1.0.0,1.1.0).

That's odd, the Java server should work on anything with a functional JVM. Would you mind opening a bug with your findings?
