How is Vorto related to the OPC UA Information Model (see below)? Is there any connection at all?

Hello Andreas,
There is definitely a relation! The OPC UA Information Model is part of the OPC Unified Architecture and allows amongst others the description of devices by specifying the structure of related nodes. These nodes can describe attributes, methods, and also events. There exist various other approaches and standards that also specify how devices can be represented. It is not in scope of the Vorto project to define a new, additional standard. The goal of Vorto is amongst others to create a tool that allows to transform the Vorto device descriptions (Information Models) into various formats using specific code generators. For example it shall be possible to create a code generator that transforms Vorto Information Models into OPC UA conform representations. But for example it also should be possible to transform Vorto Information Models into a HGi SDT conform representation by creating a corresponding code generator. For being able to do that for various standards the Vorto Meta model must be very flexible und thus is the most important component of the project. Another requirement for the Vorto Information Models is, that they have to be human readable and that they have a structure which is easy to understand.

Does that answer your question?
