Will Project Vorto be designed to describe the Information Models that are relevant as a virtual entity in the sense of Industrie 4.0 ? Is there a way to integrate/transform existing Models that describe specific aspects of the domain like SysML ?

Regards Jens

Hi Jens,

Vorto shall not be domain specific. This means that it shall allow to describe arbitrary devices from arbitrary domains. Therefore the key component of Vorto is the Meta-Information-Model which must be very flexible.

Transformation mechanisms are currently not in scope of the project. We provide an extension point which allows the integration of code generators. These code generators can be used to transform Information Models into required formats.
As a starting point we will provide several example code generators. We also think about providing an extension point for importers.

Best regards

Olaf
