Hello,
I would like to discuss which of our runtimes we want to support in the eTrice Open Source project.

For the 0.5. I would suggest:
current:
- MT_WIN_MinGW (stable)
- MT_POSIX_GENERIC_GCC (stable)

new:
- a generic FreeRTOS runtime if possible (prototype)
- a generic single threaded runtime as proposed by Thomas Jung as base for very fast and easy bare metal ports (prototype)

For the 1.0 we have to discuss further platforms.
- singlethreaded Infineon XMC with DAVE
- ...

I would like to keep things simple for the 0.5

Hi,

I agree. The posix and Min_GW runtimes are essential. The FreeRTOS and single threaded ports should serve more or less as examples for those who want to make a port by themselves.

Maybe we can add some more explanations to the example ports to support useres a bit more by creating their own ports.

Hi Thomas,

I agree with your proposal to stick with the essential versions (POSIX
and MinGW) and add and maintain only a few exemplary ports.

But that means we also should perform some clean up and add
documentation to the ports we already have together with some general
instructions and hints how to proceed for more special hardware.
