Hello,

I am using Papyrus from the sources - compiling the sources from scratch. When trying to compile papyrus, eclipse hangs and stop to work. Sometimes, I got a java heap execption, sometimes no exceprion or warning.

Is there a good way to compile the sources? Any instructions/help?

Thanks for any suggestion or comment!

Hi Julien,

The easiest approach for compiling Papyrus from scratch is the use of Oomph (https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/796345/).

I experienced some issues lately (https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/1030378/) but for most developers it seems to work fine.

HTH,
Johan

Hi Julien,

When using JDT to compile Papyrus, you may need to increase the VM memory (heap space). I'm not sure how much is required, but -Xmx1024m is probably a minimum.

Regards,
Camille

Oomph sets the heap space for the development environment to -Xmx2048m by default.

Yes, that is at least partly to support both a large JDT workspace and
working with Papyrus's own design models.
