I need to pick a project for my degree, one of the options is to implement a plugin that would allow its user to extends Eclipse using a different language than Java. For example you could use Scala or C programmatically to create new menus in Eclipse and define their behavior. Or more advanced things like create an editor with your own syntax highlight rules. All this without ever using Java!

Do you think its an interesting project, or should i forget this option?
