So I have a problem I can't figure out. On my stationary computer I can run Erlang programs from Eclipse but not from my laptop.

Stationary computer:
64 bit Windows 7 and 64 bit Eclipse
Laptop
32 bit Windows 7 and 32 bit Eclipse

Erlide is installed on both computers from the marketplace.

On my stationary, where it works, it says the following in the console:
Eshell V5.9.1
(LearnErlang@Enigma)1>

These lines are absent on my laptop. The bottom field where you write the commands are red as long as it's not a valid command and then turns green. But that's from Erlide?

I can run the Erlang shell that comes with the installation on both computers. On my laptop if I use the Erlang shell I can compile and run Erlang files. But not in Eclipse. As far as I can tell I have the "Window -> Preferences -> Erlang -> Installed runtimes" setup exactly the same on both computers.

So far I've tried a fresh install of Eclipse and Erlang, but it doesn't solve the problem.

Any help is much appreciated.

Problem is now solved. My laptop had a name with non ASCII letters. After renaming my laptop all is working.

So case closed!
