"Try the Eclipse Installer 2019-03R Windows 64 bit" On the same page there is an "Oracle Enterprise pack for Eclipse" download link. On the same page it says: You will need a Java runtime environment (JRE) to use Eclipse (Java SE 8 or greater is recommended). All downloads are provided under the terms and conditions of the Eclipse Foundation Software User Agreement unless otherwise specified. I think it turns out that there is a problem because the installer and the higher number Java packages don't jibe. So whatr I actually got was eclipse-inst-win64.exe 'when I ran this file i was instructed to go for a 'LATEST" VERSION of the installer. Why didn't the Eclipse instructions tell me this before? This is crazy. If there are two versions of the installer, then why give people a link to the older one? So I went to: http://www.eclipse.oef/downloads/download.php?FILE=/OOMPH/PRODUCTS/LATEST/ECLIPSE-INST-WIN64.EXE And what is downloaded looks like the same filename and the same size as the one that wouldn't work an hour or so ago. And, as before, it says: "The Java version needed to run Eclipse Installer couldn/'t be found on your systen, get java 1.8.0 (64 bit)." They suggest Oracle JDK 12 OeXLW JRE 12 GOING FOR SE DEVELOPMENT KIT 12 So I got this, but installation my new copy of Ecliple is not finding it. No Java virtual machine was found after searching the following locations: E:\ECLIPSE\eclipse-SDK-4.12M-win32-x86_64\eclipse\jre\bin\javaw.exe javaw.exe in your current PATH. There is no javaw.exe to be found in the downloded material from Oracle. I downloaded the JVM that goes with version 8 and it worked o.k. with the jdk 12.
