I am running Houdini ESQ for legal practice management. They use birt Report Design for report generation. They sent me to this Eclipse link to download birt:

http: //www.eclipse.org/ downloads/ download.php?file=/ birt/ downloads/drops/R-R1-2_6_1-201009171723/birt-rcp-report-designer-2_6_1.zip

I downloaded the zip file, and attempted to run birt.exe, but I get this error:

"The birt executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library"

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

Do you have java installed on the machine?

Just updated Java, still getting same error message
