Eclipse hangs in Fedora Core 2 [message #255419]

out there had a similar problem (or success with core 2)?

No, I was downloading binary builds from eclipse site. Worked out of the
box.

It works for me as long as I don't pass in -vmargs. Unfortunately I need
a pretty large memory footprint. I wonder if it has to do with the change
in stack sice in the 2.6 kernel?

I have successfully installed and run the 3.0RC2 binaries on Fedora Core 2
with the
1.4.2_04 JDK and set -vmargs -Xmx512m.

This is a known problem with running any java app on the kernel that ships
with fedora core 2 (2.6.5-i686).
For more details on what you can do to fix it, read here:

For me, downgrading my kernel to the i586 version did the trick.
Upgrading to 2.6.6 should also do the trick (Wasn't available when I ran
into the problem).
