I've recently downloaded and installed GEF 3.1. I would want to play
around with the codes of the examples included, particularly the shape
editor. Would it be possible? The only thing that i've seen in the Net is
how to actually run those samples but not play with them.

Just get the code from CVS, instructions are on the web site.
