I would like to catch unhandled exceptions in my e4 application.

What I did was:
1. adding a Thread.UncaughtExceptionHandler to the main thread
2. installing a Handler on the extension Point org.eclipse.ui.statusHandlers

Both was not triggered on throwing a NullPointerException,

Question:
how can I push to the log any exception occured on any thread, spawned by my e4 application?

Code which I used to add a Thread.UncaughtExceptionHandler
        Thread.UncaughtExceptionHandler h = new Thread.UncaughtExceptionHandler() {
            @Override
            public void uncaughtException(Thread th, Throwable ex) {
                System.out.println("Uncaught exception: " + ex);
                LOG.error(
                        String.format("Uncaught exception occured on thread with name %s and id %s", th.getName(),
                                th.getId()), ex);
            }
        };
        Thread.currentThread().setUncaughtExceptionHandler(h);
        Thread.setDefaultUncaughtExceptionHandler(h);

        // TODO alf del
        if (true) {
            throw new NullPointerException();
        }

Does someone know what is reposible for logging the workbench exceptions to console?
Is there a possibility to log those messages to my own log?
