I'm trying to install the CDT subproject, but it quits after a while
saying it can't create file
/usr/local/lib/eclipse/plugins/ [rest of CDT name clipped]
There is a /usr/local/lib/eclipse/ directory on this machine, but no
plugins/ subdirectory.
I also noticed that the Help-Software Updates-Manage Configuration menu
shows both /usr/lib/eclipse and /usr/local/lib/eclipse as location paths.
I suspect I can create a plugin/ directory under /usr/local/lib/eclipse,
or I can disable /usr/local/lib in the Product Configuration manager.
Is either of these the right thing to do, or is there a better way?

This is for Eclipse SDK version: 3.1.0
The OS is Ubuntu 5.10 _Breezy Badger_
