just wondering if anyone is using jboss 4.0.x with the wtp. i pulled the
m4, and only see a profile for jboss 3.2.x. i encountered an issue
looking for jboss-boot.jar or somesuch in setting up a 4.x server. (using
the 3.2.3 profile).

well, i found a small trouble pasting in the jboss401.serverdef file. the
first line didn't paste in ok.

<tns:ServerRuntime
xmlns:tns="http://eclipse.org/jst/server/generic/ServerTypeDefinition"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation=" http://eclipse.org/jst/server/generic/ServerTypeDefinition/S erverTypeDefinitionSchema.xsd
" name="JBOSS 4.0.1" version="v4.0.1">

i'm still not sure i have it right, but i can select and setup the 4.0.1
jboss instance. now when trying to run i get:

Buildfile:
D:\proj\autodeploy\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.jst.common .launcher.ant\tempAnt.xml
init:
webdoclet:

BUILD FAILED
D:\proj\autodeploy\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.jst.common .launcher.ant\tempAnt.xml:56:
taskdef class xdoclet.modules.web.WebDocletTask cannot be found

Total time: 1 second

maybe we should create a bug in bugzilla to attach the jboss 4.0.x server
config files.

i had to install xdoclet myself per this message, now the xdoclet goes.

http://dev.eclipse.org/newslists/news.eclipse.webtools/msg04 096.html

currently, eclipse won't let me deploy to jboss 4.0.1 because it says it
doesn't support 1.2 web standards. i'm just trying to do a simple web app
deployed to a container.

ok, i finally am deploying to jboss 4.0.0 (using the 4.0.1 definition). i
get lots of errors in my server startup, some seem to be about locale or
somesuch. i have used the jboss server for other manual deployments prior
to using it with eclipse.

i also could not get eclipse to recognize that jboss 4.0.1 could handle
1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 j2ee apps even after i edited the plugin.xml. i had to
completely start from scratch, with a new workspace and then it would
allow me to deploy a new app to jboss.

finally, i searched the bugs and found this:
