In my repository I have a couple of plain Java projects (i.e. non-plug-in) as well as plug-in projects. While the latter will be imported into the workspace by Oomph via the targlets configuration, how do I configure Oomph to import the former?

PS:
I even have plain (non-Java) projects. A solution to import them as well would be great.

Hi, Jan,

Does the ProjectImport task work for non-plug-in projects?

HTH,

Christian

Sounds adequate, but I cannot use it. When I choose new Child -> Additional tasks -> Projects import... I get a dialog "Oomph Extension Installation" and clicking on "Install" brings me to an empty "Variables" wizard with a disabled Finish button. When I select "Show all variables" I can change the "setup.projects.p2" variable but that doesn't enable the "Finish" button. AFAIK the extensions are deprecated anyway.

There's a "Component Definition" New Wizard that you can use to create a component.def file in a non-plugin project to
make it looke like a plugin (or feature). Please done forget to specify the component ID in that file. Your
SourceLocator in the Targlet should recognize the project then.

Cheers

Thanks for the hint with the ProjectsImportTask. I finally added it by textually editing the XMI using snippets found by Google (!) but eventually it works. I am pretty sure that that's not the recommended way of doing this...

I filed https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=460189 for the extension dialog.

The component.defs did it. Thanks, Eike!

That's a cool tip! Sounds rather Buckminsterian. ;-)

I've developed the targlet containers with some best Buckminster's best features in mind ;-)
