Planetjava, java.net and Eclipse [message #30622] Thu, 02 March 2006 10:18 Go to next message

Hi Eclipse-community,

I'm a regular reader of http://www.planetjava.org/ - the blog-aggregator for
the Java-community. At least 60% to 70% of planetjava-content comes from
Sun-websites or aggregators like Aquarium or java.net. In fact planetjava
looks more and more like a Sun-hype- and marketing-machine and not like a
Java community-website or aggregator.

There is not much presence of Eclipse-committers on planetjava. There should
be much more Eclipse-related content there. My message to the
Eclipse-commiters: "You should care about planetjava"

And please take a look on java.net:

According to java.net there is no EclipseCon that year :-)

Andy,

Thanks for the tip. We will figure out something to help improve the

It's getting worser and worser.
Now they added planetnetbeans to planetjava.org.
At least 80% of planetjava-content comes from Sun now.

I talked to the webmaster of Planet Java and he added us to the planet
nav but is doesn't want to aggregate our feed. I just asked him why he
is aggregating Planet NetBeans but not Planet Eclipse but I don't have a
response yet.

Ok, I got a response. :) According to his comment it was only a test
with Planet Netbeans. He wanted to remove it. But he is now playing with
aggregating both...

We'll see how things work out.

Planeteclipse has been added.
Planetjava has become the biggest bloggosphere-planet ;-)
