I tried out the AJDT 1.4.1 plugin and got my feet wet
with AspectJ. It's still amazing what AOP can do for you,
but I am a bit unpleased about the Outliner behaviour
(needs rebuild everytime I select a other resource
to see an outline view).

While reading some of the notes about AJDT, I
stumpled over the Lancaster screenshots and asked
myself, where can I find some dates about the
expected Lancaster Milestones or something similar.
I would like to test it, because it seams to add most
of the tools I am missing within the 1.4.1 release.

So if it comes available (even in early stages), I would
like to know it and I will test it in a plain installation
an provide feedback for sure.

So does anyone knows, if there is a version of Lancaster
available for previewing and testing.

Thanks,

Martin (Kersten)

There might be one in the cvs tree - not sure though. However the release
was and AFAIK is still planned for the date of the AOSD conference March
22-26, which is going to be at Lancaster.

Thanks alot, I am looking forward to this. A milestone or beta
release would be nice (just for earlier access :). But March 22-26
is also a good headstart. Can't wait :)

See you,

Martin (Kersten)

Will a developer build be available via
http://download.eclipse.org/technology/ajdt/*dev*/update any time soon?

I told Adrian we never should have released those screenshots ;)

Anyway, we are currently looking at what our task list is to get the new
Lancaster AJDT to the same level of functionality as AJDT 1.1.4. As soon as
we have something usable we will put it somewhere publically accessible,
rather than on mine and Adrians hard drive. If you really want to play with
fire, we will start the upload to CVS in the next week or so but we won't
have the packaging sorted out for a little while yet.
