It's important to remember that the Eclipse layout resource designer preview can't replicate exactly how the layout will appear to end users. For this, you must test your application on a properly configured emulator and, more importantly, on your target devices. Also, certain "complex" controls, including tabs or video viewers, cannot be previewed within Eclipse.

What does he mean?
Isn't Eclipse IDE up to scratch for UI design-and-code?

Samples and tutorials are appreciated, of course Smile

This article was written the year I developed for Android using Eclipse
Galileo. I can really only speak to that. What's happened between
Eclipse and Android since I cannot say.

I did not find the emulator (which isn't anything to do with Eclipse
because it was from Google) a problem. I was mostly happy developing on
Eclipse.

Here was my experience. I'm sure it's very old now and I suspect the
tutorial I was using to get started doesn't exist anymore or doesn't
exist in the same format.
