XSD Validation Error [message #1603723]

Hi All,

My following XSD (file attached) is not getting validated. The error message that says:
failed to read document etso-code-lists.xsd.

But if I open in browser etso-code-lists.xsd , i can see the imported xsd.

Could someone please help?

Luca,

Where is this schema located when you validate it? Is the
etso-code-lists.xsd in the same relative location as this schema? What
tool are you using to validate it? Likely your question is more of a
Web Tools question....

Hi ED,

Thanks for replying.

The "etso-code-lists.xsd" is not located on my local machine, but at the namespace and schemaLocation referenced.

I could not paste the entire endurl here, as the forum does not allow it.

But if you could reference the namepsare with .xsd, you will see the file is located on the designated remote server. I am not sure how to reference the file locally. It should work with a url reference as well?

I am using a free online XSD validator tool "www.utilities-online.info/xsdvalidation/#.VNjOzvnF_eU"

Luca,

How conforming XML processors locate schemas is not very well defined in
the specification. I can explain how the XSD model does it but given
you're using something else, you'd need to ask the provider of that
tool. Generally if the schemaLocation is a relative URI you should
expect it to be resolved against the URI of the schema containing that
relative URI to produce an absolute URI at which the referenced schema
is expected to exist...
