I started with a clean installation of 3.0M6 and installed AJDT with the
update manager.
Unfortunatly the feature is not activated.
The status, found at Help>Software Updates>Manage Configuration>Eclipse
AspectJ Development Tools 1.1.4 says:
No plug-in: "org.eclipse.aspectj" included at runtime.
No plug-in: "org.aspectj.ajde" included at runtime.
No plug-in: "org.eclipse.ajdt.ui" included at runtime.
Any ideas how to activate AJDT with M6?
Thanks in advance.
Yours,
Christian

Did you ever get an answer to this? I am also trying to get AspectJ to
work with eclipse, and going back to Eclips 2.1.x is not an option for me.

AspectJ works fine with 3.0M4. Hopefully, the differences between M4 and
M6 aren't too great....

I know it's a little late in this discussion but for what it's worth here
goes:
If you want/need to be using aspectj/AJDT and Eclipse M5/M6/M7? etc., you
can always use the Ant tasks to compile
your aspects. You obviously don't get some of the nice features of AJDT
(source editor, aspect viewer etc.) but the actual
aspect technology is readily usable. I personally think this is the best
option as you can continue to use AspectJ as
Eclipse develops and until the Eclipse plugins for AspectJ catch up.
Here's the ant build file I'm using with Eclipse M6 as a starting point:
--- 8< --- build.xml
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<project name="scratch" default="compile" basedir=".">
<taskdef
resource="org/aspectj/tools/ant/taskdefs/aspectjTaskdefs.properties ">
<classpath>
<pathelement location="${aspectj-home}/aspectjtools.jar"/>
</classpath>
</taskdef>
<path id="classpath">
<pathelement location="${aspectj-home}/aspectjrt.jar"/>
<fileset dir="${lib}">
<include name="**/*.jar"/>
<include name="**/*.zip"/>
</fileset>
</path>
<target name="compile" depends="check-properties">
<mkdir dir="${dest}"/>
<iajc
destdir="${dest}"
fork="true"
sourceroots="${src}">
<!-- classpath entries -->
<classpath refid="classpath"/>
</iajc>
</target>
<target name="check-properties">
<fail unless="aspectj-home" message="Property 'aspectj-home' must be
defined"/>
<echo>Using aspectj-home=${aspectj-home}</echo>
<echo>Using src=${src}</echo>
<echo>Using dest=${dest}</echo>
</target>
</project>

Actually on Eclipse side they are tremendous. I think that's the problem :-/

Well, I tried I20040127 and the features exported by the plugin were
visible in eclipse. However, I do not know if any of them work as I
could not test them as I do not have an aspectJ enabled project ;-)
