I'm using Eclipse 3.1(Build id: I20050627-1435) and it works fine while I'm
using it. However, if I leave it alone for a period of time, Eclipse
terminates and I may loose some pending edits. Is there an idle timeout?
If there is, where does one set the time or inhibit it all together?

Not that I know of. I've had it running for over 2 weeks now, with frequent
long periods of inactivity.
Check the .log file, maybe it crashed.

I'm surprised, but there is nothing oin the log file. I will try to capture
the dialog that is posted when Eclipse shuts down.
