Hi,
I'm new to OM2M, ETSI standard and also ReST.
From one side OM2M adopts a ReSTFUL architectural style and all information are represented as resources, and from the other side web services are about hiding resources and exposing process which operate on those resources.
So, I need to know whether web services are supported by OM2M?
thx,

Hi Akrem,

OM2M does not support web services and there is no plan to do so.

However, if in you need to expose web services in your project, you can still extend OM2M by developing your web services as OSGi bundles that discover and invoke the SCL Core service.

Hope this will help.

Hello,

Akrem, I'm currently looking for the same topic and would like to know if you continued in the same topic by developping your own web services that discover and invoke the SCL Core service ?

Also, Are we obliged to develop our web services as OSGI bundles or could we use another framework like javax ws rs for example ?

Thanks.

Thanks

Hello Ray,

You are not obliged to develop your web service as OSGi bundles to invoke the SCL. You could use any HTTP or CoAP library.
You can take a look at this nice om2m extension: a java client api developed by the open source community for triggering the SCL:

Best regards,
Mahdi
