why is the swt browser not a full browser, or how to enable stuff? [message #1409964]

Hi,

we want to use the browser as an html editor. but for that we kind of want to use an actual real system (so code that is also used outside of eclipse)

we run for that into a few problems, for example websockets don't work (but it is IE right that is included in windows and in IE websockets work fine)
But also the base tag doesn't work so: <base href="/"> has no effect..
Why is that? What kind of browser is it that we see?
