Cheatsheet Extensibility support [message #1407701] Wed, 13 August 2014 04:54 Go to next message

I want to generate my own custom editor control for individual tasks in a cheatsheet.
I also want to have more control of how the tasks are displayed in the explorer pane.

Both requirements can be fulfilled by making use of the TaskEditor and TaskExplorer options in the 'org.eclipse.ui.cheatsheets.cheatSheetContent' extension point.
But these in turn make use of the 'org.eclipse.ui.internal.provisional.cheatsheets.TaskEditor' and 'org.eclipse.ui.internal.provisional.cheatsheets.TaskExplorer' classes.

This is a provisional API.
See the documentation
http://help.eclipse.org/luna/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.platform.doc.isv%2Freference%2Fextension-points%2FcompositeContentFile.html

I am trying to find out what the plans are for this API. Is it possible that it will be made public in next Eclipse release ?
It appears to be stable since Eclipse 3.2 (Release date: 8 July 2009)
How can I vote to have it made public ?

Thanks in advance
Viv

Moving this to the Platform User Assistance forum (cheatsheets is "owned" by Platform UA). That's a quiet forum group, so if you don't get any response try asking in the Eclipse Platform group.
