After fiddling around a couple of hours to get my old version up...
i downloaded the latest version of birt (4.4) and will start from scratch.

i need to integrate both, birt viewer and designer into an RCP application.
i found the 'birt-rcp-report-designer-4_4_0-20140611' build on Birt webpage, which is nice, but i did not find a tutorial yet, how to get there.

so what do i need to get started? (i need an update site for the libaries, so i grabbed 'birt-updatesite-4_4_0-20140611')
but which (minimal set of) plugins do i need to get the designer running (and viewer)?

and finally i need to create a 'Custom Java report generator', which is mentioned like three times on the webpage, but i was not able to find an example by search&google (point me if you know one)

Thanks in Advance
Ludwig

NOTE: in the update site, it still says

  • BIRT 4.2 Charting SDK
  • BIRT 4.2 Engine OSGi Runtime SDK
  • BIRT 4.2 Reporting SDK
  • Birt 4.2 WTP Integration SDK

(whereat the version numbers are 4.4 inside...

Hi Ludwig,

I'm new to BIRT. I downloaded birt-rcp-report-designer-4_4_0 too, but I can't open the application. The program keep showing message about not found jre/jdk path. Have you ever experienced this ? Or do you know how to configure these paths ? Please check my attached screenshot and help me with this.

Thank in advanced
