Plugins in "Target Platform" [message #24004] Thu, 25 September 2008 08:58 Go to next message

Hi,

i wrote a plugin that uses emf, gef, gmf and oaw. I configured my
Eclipse 3.4 in a way that it starts without any error-message and all
plugins are installed as expected. I checked that via "Help/About
Eclipse SDK" and "Help/Software Updates..." . In addition i opened the
view "Plug-in Registry" and all plugins could be found there.

Anyway, if i put my plugin into that workspace it says that i can't
resolve dependencies to plugins that are definitely available in the
running platform (as explained above).

Comparing the configurations of my 3.3 with 3.4 i realized that there
are huge differences between the plugins listed in "Plug-ins"-Tab under
"Preferences/Plug-in Development/Target Platform" although on both are
the same plugins installed. F.e.: OAW-Plugins are definitely available
but not listed here under 3.4 but under 3.3. How do i get them added in
here?

I actually made most of my experiences with Eclipse 3.3. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance,
Mirko

i have to uncheck the box "Build target platform based on the target's
installed plug-ins" and the hit the button "Reload"

can anyone explain this functionality?

Thanks,
Mirko
