Hi guys do i need GEF and EMF knwoledge for using GMF ???

and if yes how deep should it be ?

Hello, Elia!

IMO, knowledge of EMF is essential, at least because you need it to
implement your domain metamodel for GMF. In this case you have to
understand how to work with .ecore files, what is genmodel and what .model
and .edit code does. I guess these basic topics are covered in the EMF
tutorial.

On the other hand, knowledge of GEF is not crucial at all. It's needed
only if you'd like to further customize the generated editor, modifying
its source code. Here's a good GEF explanation with pictures (well, it's
