i recently downloaded and installed Eclipse IDE for java EE Developers.
It installed properly. I tried to download Software Updates via
1)Help --> Software Updates -->Find and Install.
2)Selected "Search for new features to install" and pressed Next.
3) Clicked on "New Remote Site"
4) Entered "Spring IDE updatesite" for the Name and
"http://springide.org/updatesite/" for the URL. Clicked "OK".
( I tried to follow the instructions given to update Spring as given in
http://springide.org/project/wiki/SpringideInstall)
I did not get a mark as expected in step 4 as mentioned in the install
page.
I then clicked on "Finish".
I then got an error as :
Network connection problems encountered during search.
Unable to access "http://springide.org/updatesite/".
Error parsing site stream. [Premature end of file.]
Premature end of file.
Error parsing site stream. [Premature end of file.]
Premature end of file.
Not sure how to progress further. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

An error like 'Network connection problems encountered during search' sounds
like something not caused by Eclipse. Did you try to connect to the update
site with your webbrowser? That would help to verify your network and the
connection to their update site.
Another idea: Are you sitting behind a proxy server? If so, you have to set
the proxy settings in your Eclipse network preferences.
