I have tried yesterday and today. The eclipse for JEE Developer(the name
for download is "eclipse-jee-europa-win32") cannot be start in Windows XP.
But the Eclipse Class runs fine in my PC.

Here is the environment I have.

OS: WinXP
JRE: 1.5
Server: Tomcat 6.x

Here is the Dialog Message coming up when i was intending to launch the
"Eclipse.exe"

JVM terminated. Exit code = 1
-Xms40m
-Xmx512m
-xx:MaxPermSize=128M
-Djava.class.path=C:\
-os win32
-ws win32
...
...
and so on

Plus, I thought my PC might run out of the memory, so I allocate the
memory for Eclipse via command line. It sill doesn't work. I really hope
you can help me out.

Could you send me an mail once you have the solution? Thanks a million.

Hi,

I have just checked this and everything worked fine.
Are there any entries in the .log file in $workspace_path/.metadata ?

no any .log files in the installation folder. Plus, there is another file
called "eclipsec.exe", when I clicked it, it showed "Error occurred during
initialization of VM; Could not reserve enough space for object heap." Do
you know why? Afterwards, I re-allocated the memory for eclipse, but It
still didn't work though. Are your environments similar with mine? Here is
mine:

OS: WinXP
JRE: 1.5
Server: Tomcat 6.x

By the way, the Eclipse Classic always runs very well in my machine for a
long time.

Hope you can help me out!

Thanks.

Cai.
