Ok, so here's my setup. I got a HP Dv9000z laptop (AMD Turion 64 Tl-60,
2gbram), and Ubuntu 64 running on it. But, everything i do with eclipse
pdt, returns an error. It sucks, cause im a linux fan, but stuck using
windows for my php apps.
No matter how i install, i keep getting errors. First, i downloaded from
the repositories, eclipse starts, but i cannot install the PDT plugin, as
i am missing GEF, WST and EMF. So i install all, and i get a wrong version
error for the WST, saying i have 1.5.2, and i need 2. Yet i download 2.0,
and it returns it is the 2.0 WTP Server plugin, and not 2.0 WST. So i was
confussed with that. I said screw it cant waste my time. I downloaded the
All In One with the PDT. I get an error on boot.

i have java-1.6.0.00-sun installed. So that's not the problem, i even
tried to downgrade to 1.5 but same exact thing again.
Now, i ended up downlaod eclipse through the repositoreis after getting
rid of eveything, and it loaded. i downloaded the sdk for the pdt, and put
it in, and it works, but i cannot create a project. everytime i open
eclipse after a project was created, i get this error:
Unable to create view: NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR: The implementation does not
support the requested type of object or operation.
please help me, im stuck on windows till i can get it running
(and so you now, i have eclipse pdt working fine on my i386 machine, just
not this AMD64 Laptop)

I am unsure whether this is the actual cause, but the typical problem
with eclipse on 64-bit is that you need a 64 bit java as well. I.e. if
you download that all-in-one package, check whether it is 32-bit or
64-bit and make sure you run it with the corresponding java.
