Hi
we are using GEF in a large project for a customer that involves graphic
editing of quite large data sets (order of magnitude of 10^6 elements).
Our experiences so far were convincing and we think that we can manage the
model size by providing adequate sub-models or so. The project itself is a
multi-tiered application with a RCP-based GUI and we are still in an early
stage of the project.
Now our customer raised the question whether GEF is really the right
answer and whether there are others who use GEF succesfully in a similar
context.
So the question is: Does anyone have similar model sizes and experience
about usefulness and performance?
Thanks
- Andrej.

It depends on the grouping of the presentation of the data. I doubt you
want to display that many items all at once, but if you can use nesting, or
navigation into/out of, it might make sense.
