Hey guys,

Eclipse 3.3R3 installed on my system:
> uname -a
Linux athina 2.6.21 #1 SMP Wed Jun 6 13:44:55 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386
GNU/Linux

is crashing, the .log file starts as seen below:

#
# An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
#
# SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0xb7e6df97, pid=6575, tid=3077368608
#
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.4.2_14-b05 mixed mode)
# Problematic frame:
# C [libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0+0x20ff97]
.....

Lots of details follow but I think they are not necessary in this
medium. So my questions are as follows:

- Is there any place I can pass to the eclipse developer community the
log file? Should I wait for the release of 3.3?
- I am wondering what is the GTK library version 3.3* is being developed
against? That will help me understand whether to upgrade (downgrade).
- Anyone else with such problems?

TIA,

George

You should definitely file a bug report in Bugzilla as soon as possible,
including as much of the log file as is appropriate. You do not need to
wait for 3.3 to be released. (Of course, you should first search Bugzilla
to see if your bug has already been encountered.)

Make sure to include details about what you're doing when the crash occurs.

George - Do you have a bug number for this?
I am having a similar problem with RC3 and RC4 on my Fedora Core 5 install.

Thanks in advance,

Matt.
