Hello!

I never got used to selecting text the Windows-way with shift+some_arrow.
I allways selected text by dropping a selection mark at the currend caret
position, then moved the caret to some other position (without holding the
shift key) and that's it. Is it possible to select text this way in
Eclipse?

Have a look at Preferences -> General -> Keys -> Edit -> Scheme. There
is an Emacs scheme there. You might like it.
