Report Runs in Kepler But Not in Birt Viewer [message #1257723] Wed, 26 February 2014 13:27 Go to next message

First time poster.

I have created a report using Eclipse Kepler build 1. The report utilizes the BMC Remedy ODA drivers. I have placed the three jar files into the plugins directory for both Kepler and BirtViewer. The report runs fine in Kepler but will not run under the birtviewer. The report launches in BV and presents the parameter page but the connection to Remedy is not being made as the drop downs are empty.

Not sure where to look for the issue.

Could you expand precisely in which folder you have put your jar files for the birt WebViewer? Did you install the birt viewer on an application server such Tomcat?
- As a web application of a J2EE server, drivers should be put in the <Birt viewer home>/WEB-INF/lib directory
- With the birt Viewer embedded in kepler i think we should put ODA drivers in <Eclipse home>/plugins/org.eclipse.birt.report.data.oda.jdbc_<build version>/drivers

For the BirtViewer the files are in \webapps\birt-viewer\WEB-INF\lib.
We are using Tomcat 6 on Windows server.
For Kepler the drivers have been placed in c:\eclipse\plugins.
