Has anyone done a CMMI plugin for EPF that would allow linking Specific and
Generic Practices to tasks, methods, etc...?

Not (yet), that I know of. However, some things have been done with
respect to CMM and RUP, which could be useful (if you have access to
scientific journals from a library). The following reference is similar
to what you are asking, albeit for CMM (rather than CMMI) and RUP
(rather than EPF).

Identifying extensions required by RUP (Rational Unified Process) to
comply with CMM (Capability Maturity Model) levels 2 and 3

ISSN: 0098-5589 CODEN: IESEDJ
Publisher: Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.

Abstract: This paper describes an assessment of the Rational Unified
Process (RUP) based on the Capability Maturity Model (CMM). For each key
practice (KP) identified in each key process area (KPA) of CMM levels 2
and 3, the Rational Unified Process was assessed to determine whether it
satisfied the KP or not. For each KPA, the percentage of the key
practices supported was calculated, and the results were tabulated. The
report includes considerations about the coverage of each key process
area, describing the highlights of the Rational Unified Process
regarding its support for CMM levels 2 and 3, and suggests where an
organization using it will need to complement it to conform to CMM. The
assessment resulted in the elaboration of proposals to enhance the
Rational Unified Process in order to satisfy the key process areas of
CMM. Some of these are briefly described in this article. (33 refs.)

Christopher,

Thanks, but the reference you provided is not what I am hoping for - it's a
compliance assessment of RUP vis a vis the CMM.

What I am hoping to find is a CMMI plugin to which I can add descriptors
from existing methods and processes (OpenUP/Basic and others) in order to
establish traceability to specific and generic goals and practices.

I've been dabbling at trying to figure out how to do it myself, but I'm not
grounded enough in the EPF model to feel confident in what I'm producing -
although it's been a great learning exercise.

Rob,

Vetta Technologies (the company I work for) is completing its CMMI-3
assessment. As a subproduct of the effort we are implementing a plugin on
top of EPF for checking compliance with maturity models (which I believe is
exactly what you want). In case you need to discuss this further, you can
send me a private email so I can put you on contact with the guy responsible
for this implementation (I personally don't know the current status of the
project).

All,

if anybody has an interest in contributing to EPF in the CMMI area, or in
other areas, you are always very welcome. I just wanted to make sure that
people do feel that they are welcome to get involved, welcome to contrbute,
and welcome to articulate value-add offerings on top of EPF.

Cheers
