Eclipse failed to create a virtual machine [message #1251935] Thu, 20 February 2014 14:11 Go to next message

Hi,
I just re-downloaded eclipse from eclipse.org.
The message when i start it says: failed to create a virtual machine.
I had to re-download it because it said the same thing with the first version
that i downloaded a few days ago and i thought that it was something that could
be fixed by re-downloading the program.
i did not uninstall eclipse on my Windows 7 because when i went to the control panel which allows to uninstall programs, eclipse was not on the list. so i just put it into trash.
so what do i do?

Eclipse does not need to be "uninstalled" like the typical Windows program. You remove it simply by deleting it from your file system, there are no registry entries or anything else to remove.
For the starting problem, did you read the "sticky" note at the top of this Newcomers forum group? It has instructions for fixing the most common Eclipse start-up problem.
