Javadoc Hovers won´t show (in general) [message #205355] Tue, 17 April 2007 09:01 Go to next message

Hi

I already read a lot of threads about die javadoc hovers not showing,
while the Shift+F2 option is working. All solutions I found didn´t work
out for me.
My Problem is, that the javadoc won´t show in general. Both windows
(hover and javadoc-tab) are always blank. Even the javadocs of my OWN
classes won´t show, although i can generate a documentation from my project.
I tried switching the javadoc font in 3.3M6, but it didn´t help.

I tried using Eclipse 3.2.2 and 3.3M6 on a Windows NT4 with
J2SDK1.6.0_01 and J2SDK1.4.2_14 without solving the problem.

Does anybody has any idea, what I can do?

Thanks in regards
Timo Müller

Can you see the Javadoc in the Javadoc view?
Does the internal web browser work?

Javadoc view is as blank as the hover window.
Internal browser is working fine

You have to tell Eclipse where to find it. Do you have the source of
the classes you want Javadoc of? src.zip can be downloaded and put in
the jdk directory.

It should be able to find Javadoc of your own classes. If that isn’t
working, I don’t know.

Theres nothing in the log-file, except a conflict from the Web Standard
Tools. I disabled the WST, but it didn`t help. Still gives me empty
windows on everything (even my own classes, methods, ...)

Can you try a complete fresh Eclipse SDK install with no additional
plug-ins?

I did. I installed a fresh 3.2.2 and 3.3M6 version both without
installing anything additionally. But it didn´t help.

Hi there,

I changed my screen resolution from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 today, because
I got an interim LCD Screen, and miraculously Eclipse now displays the
javadoc. I´m still wondering why this happened, because before the
resize even the standard yellowish background of the javadoc comment was
not displayed. Well, as long as it works I accept it unquestionally ;)
