Hello, everyone,

There will be many association elements on the Model Explorer if you have created some diagrams like below, but normally we do not interested in these associations, how to filter them?

index.php/fa/17304/0/

Hello, have you ever received an answer for this?

I would be really interested if someone could give me some clues about filtering elements from the Model Explorer.... documentation, examples...

thanks in advance and sorry for re-upping this post

Nicholas

Hi,

There is a bugzilla open about this issue:

487490: [Model Explorer] [Facet] Associations in Model Explorer are not collected together in a folder (Simple UML Facet)
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=487490

A patch has also been created, but it's been put in stand-by for now (It's still unclear if/how we want to support this feature exactly)

Cheers,
Camille

Hi Camille,

Thanks for your reply, it seems interesting I'll keep an eye on it!

Meanwhile I've found a workaround that i'd like to share:

I've extended point "org.eclipse.ui.navigator.navigatorContent" adding a <CommonFilter> element to filter out all the associations in the model. It works with other elements as well.

I've found a usage of this extension point in plugin org.eclipse.papyrus/plugins/uml/decoratormodel/org.eclipse.papyrus.uml.decoratormodel.ui

The filter can be checked/unchecked from the "Customize View..." entry of the Model Explorer View Menu.

It's a simple workaround but maybe someone could find it useful. It works on Eclipse Neon. I haven't tried it on newer versions.
