Is the Zip file editor a plugin, or part of the core? [message #198626] Thu, 08 March 2007 18:00 Go to next message

Quite a while ago, I remembered seeing a note somewhere on EclipseZone
that mentioned a zip file editor plugin. I'm pretty sure I installed it,
and I use it occasionally. Recently I decided I wanted to review the
information about it, so I could tell someone else about it. When I
looked in my installed plugins, I couldn't find anything that looked like
it. I also looked at PluginCentral, and I couldn't find it (although
there was one that seemed similar).

Was I mistaken about it being a plugin? Is it part of the Eclipse core,
either now or before?

"Base" Eclipse does not have any capability to edit ZIP files.
Is this what you are thinking of: http://sourceforge.net/projects/zipeditor

Hope this helps,
Eric

Yup, that was it. I forgot it wasn't a "standard" plugin. Which plugin
directory (or elsewhere) did you find a reference to it?

Nothing special, just Google:
http://www.google.com/search?q=eclipse+zip+editor
