Installation of CDT3.1.1 on eclipse 3.1 [message #190922] |

I installed eclipse 3.1, which is part of SuSe Linux 10.1, on my PC (hp
t3237, AMD Athlon 64) under Linux 10.1. Then I tried to install CDT3.1.1,
which I had downloaded as a zip-file.
Installation means, that I unzipped the files into the existing eclipse
root directory. I cannot use the standard method via 'help-Software
updates-find and install', because the internet is not available on that
computer.
I can see that some C/C++ functionality is available, but something seems
to be missing.
With 'File-new-project-managed make C project' I get the error message:
The selected Wizard could not be started.
Reason:
Plug-in "org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.ui" was unable to instantiate
class " org.eclipse.cdt.managedbuilder.ui.wizards.NewManagedCProject Wizard ".
Clicking on the "Details"-button in the error message tells me:
java.lang.NullPointerException
How can I get it running?

Hi,
CDT3.1.1 runs on Eclipse 3.2
You might try CDT3.0 available at:
http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/cdt-home/downloads/ main.html?root=Tools_Project&view=co
or download Eclipse 3.2 - it's also installed by unzipping the file :)
