Hello friends,
A few days back i downloaded a fresh copy of eclipse 3.2.1 from its home
page.
I am using Ubuntu 6.10 linux. I also installed eclipse sucessfully. But
when ever i tried to create a new java project i am getting this error
->The command did not complete successfully.
Java.Lang.NullPointerException.

I have jdk or j2se 1.6 installed and working sucessfully. I evern tried
writing java programs some editors and compiling and executing. It works
fine. Also netbeans supports java execution successfully. But the problem
is with Eclipse. I dont know whats the error. It also says to check the
error.log file. So when i saw that file i am getting these errors listed
below:

You are picking up gcj as the java environment. Eclipse isn't supported
on gcj. Eclipse isn't officially supported under 1.6 yet, so you might
want to download a 1.5 jdk from IBM or Sun. You can specify the vm that
Eclipse is to use by specifying the -vm argument on the command line.
It should point to the installation directory of the jdk
(/opt/jdk1.5/bin/java as an example)
