Which newsgroups are best for Java development? I looked through the subscribe list and saw nothing that looked like it was specific to Java development in Eclipse.

I'm using news.eclipse.org as my news server. Is there another relevant news server???

Just like I said -- Java development in Eclipse. Already know Java. 10 years worth of programming. Eclipse is new to me. Been using JBuilder but they are moving to use Eclipse as their IDE engine so I decided to just use Eclipse straight with no chaser -- so to speak...

I've got a book -- The Java Developer's Guide to Eclipse 2nd Ed. by a gang of 5. But I want to hook up with the Eclipse news groups appropriate to Java development with Eclipse.

So like I said, what news groups are pertinent to Java development in Eclipse?

eclipse.jdt for what you seem to be looking for, eclipse.platform if it
turns out you're getting into the Eclipse internals.

And this one (eclipse.newcomer) is a good place to start for the "basic"
stuff. It is a good place to read what other "fresh meat" is asking
about ;-)

Hope this helps,
Eric
