Checking out GEF examples [message #182318] Tue, 24 May 2005 04:08 Go to next message

When I check out the GEF shapes example, I get the following error:

"The project was not built since its build path is incomplete. Cannot find
the class file for org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Listener. Fix the build path
then try building this project org.eclipse.gef.examples.shapes."

What am I doing wrong? I have made no modifications to the source. If
anything should work for the complete novice -- shouldn't the examples?

Similar arrors occur for:
org.eclipse.gef.examples.ediagram
org.eclipse.gef.examples.logic

I am using

Eclipse 3.1 M7
GEF 3.1 M6

Thanks,
Dan

Hi,

First of all, I am also a newcomer of GEF. Here is how I resloved a problem
which occured when trying Shapes. Though it's not same as yours, I hope the
method would help.

When I use Platform 3.0.2 and GEF 3.1M6, I got problem of "Unable to create
this part due to an internal error. Reason for the
failure: The editor class could not be instantiated. This usually indicates
that the editor's class name was mistyped in plugin.xml." As a newcomer, I
have no idea to look into the source code to figure out the reasons. So I
simply used platform 3.1M7 and GEF 3.1M7. It works well.

Good luck!
Vince
