How to get Errors to show up in Navigator view [message #180675] Thu, 16 November 2006 21:52 Go to next message

I recently upgraded to the Eclipse 3.2 release and I absolutely can't get
my code problems/errors to show up in the Navigator view with
error/warning icons. They show up fine in the Package Explorer window.
What can I do or check to get this working again? It's difficult working
on a large project when I can't see errors and warnings from the Navigator
view.

Thanks,
Jonathan

This has come up before. The official answer is that Resource Navigator
has never shown problem indicators on its own. Earlier versions of WTP
added the feature, but for some reason that feature is no longer present
in the Callisto (latest) release of WTP.
Here is the bug report about it:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=158986
Please add your comments if you have anything to contribute.

Hope this helps,
Eric

Thanks for the response. I've used other eclipse based products such IBM
Rational's WSAD and RAD, and all have had the ability to display errors in
Navigator. So, if it was a conscious decision to remove that ability, I
don't think it was well thought out.
