Common command framework - is GEF moving this way? [message #179804] Sat, 30 April 2005 23:03 Go to next message

I'm yet another developer that is very keen to see unified undo support
between EMF and GEF. I've noticed that bug 37716 has been closed, and my
3.1M5a eclipse ships with IUndoableOperation, etc. So the stage is set...

I couldn't see any reference to this on the GEF 3.1 project plan. Is work
currently under way to migrate GEF to this new framework? If so, what
sort of timeframes are anticipated? I may also post to the EMF list, but
same question applies there - are the two camps actively migrating towards
something common, or is there more haggling to be done before this starts?

Jason.

We would certainly like to. But we haven't yet fully gauged the impact of
this move (API changes, backward compatibility, etc. are the issues we have
to keep in mind). We'll consider this for 3.2 (or the next major release).
