standalone?

2) Assuming the answer to (1) is yes, I can.....
I tried the The Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) Overview, but never got
past Step 0: Prerequisites - I don't know how to register the EMF plugins
with Eclipse and I don't see all the Import options and selections that
are shown in the help info. How does one do this?
