I was running through the user guide for setting up git (see: http://wiki.eclipse.org/EGit/User_Guide#Overview ). The guide shows the decorator text as MASTER but my eclipse has HEAD. IS this a problem?

Also, the guide has little difference in the wizard.

I am wondering if this will be a problem in the long run.

You're right that HEAD is not at all useful as a status decoration, given its semantics. But I've never seen EGit do this. What steps did you do exactly to get into this state, and what version of EGit are you running?
