Hi!

I noticed that there are at least two patents published in the Java
preprocessing area:
United States Patent 6986129: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6986129.html
(from SUN)

United States Patent 6839712: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6839712.html
(from IBM)

Any opinions?

You can get more detail of the text from the US Patent Office at
http://www.uspto.gov/patft/index.html . We need to study these in more
detail, but they are specific preprocessing solutions in specific
scenarios that we will probably not exploit. We are more likely to run
up against the Sun Microsystem patent in preprocessing then the IBM
patent in a generic solution.
