We have a preference plug-in that creates a top-level preference page for our project. Other plug-ins contribute preference pages to this top-level preference page using the org.eclipse.ui.preferencePages extension point.

The problem is that we have a few preference pages from multiple plug-ins that have a single preference on them, so we would like to combine some of them on the top-level page.

Is there a way to contribute field editors (or some other Control) to a preference page in another plug-in. The other plug-in would not know about these contributors.

Contributing a page is easy, just don't know if there is a way specify something other than a preference page.

Thanks.
