I am taking my first Java class and they have requested that we download
Eclipse; however, no matter what I do, it will not download. I have tried
disabling Norton and still...nothing is working. Can anyone help me with
this?
Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide.

What version are you trying to download, where are you trying to download it
from, and what are the symptoms of the failure? Please be very specific.

I go to eclipse.org and use one of the sites listed (I have tried many
different ones). I choose to "save" on my desktop and it starts
downloading. It gets stuck downloading at different spots...once at 11
mb, once at 112 mb. That is as far as I got.

When you say "it stops" what does that mean? Is there an error message?
Does it simply slow down (this happens easily if you download during the
day)? Since I am familiar with Mozilla Foxfire and its download display, I
would suggest that you use it instead of MS IE to download, and see how
its download speed changes. It should start very high and get down to 400
to 300 Kbps. If it gets lower than that, try another time. Of cousre it
depends on how fast your internet service is.
